Texas football will be involved in the first SEC Championship Game rematch since 2017. The Longhorns earned the right to play for the conference title in their season as an SEC program by beating Texas A&M, in Week 14, 17-7, at Kyle Field. Their opponent, Georgia, will be familiar.

Alabama’s won more any SEC school with 11, counting the 2023 title when the Crimson Tide upset Georgia and completely knocked the Bulldogs out of the four-team College Football Playoff. Smart’s still, uh, smarting from that one.

It didn't take long for Texas football to make its first Southeastern Conference title game. In season No. 1 as an SEC program, the Longhorns have clinched a spot in the conference championship game.
