Areas of New York are forecast to be battered by several inches of snow into Saturday morning as the state is among several in the Northeast and northern Mid-Atlantic regions grappling with winter weather.

A winter storm heading toward the Tri-State area could produce heavy rain and even snow for parts of New York state, snarling travel for millions of people during the Thanksgiving holiday.

While the rain will start to taper off by the late afternoon hours, the forecast, in a nutshell, is a wet and dreary Thanksgiving. Rainfall totals regionwide are anticipated to be between .5-1 inches – something to be thankful for, amid the ongoing drought.
