The Colorado Avalanche spent years developing Justus Annunen, but short-term needs eventually outweighed the longterm investment.

Colorado and Nashville have traded backup goaltenders, with the Predators receiving Justus Annunen and the Avalanche picking up Scott Wedgewood.

Scott Wedgewood signed a two-year deal with Nashville in July after he spent the last three seasons with the Stars.
