A man has been injured in a shark attack while spearfishing off Curtis Island near Gladstone on Queensland’s central coast.

A man has been bitten by a shark in Queensland waters. The man, aged in his 60s, was reportedly bitten by the shark in waters off Curtis Island, near Gladstone, about 8.25am while spearfishing in a wetsuit. He sustained lacerations and abrasions to his arms and hand in the incident, Queensland Ambulance Services said.

The man, understood to be in his 60s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after suffering horror bites to both his arms.
