Two tropical storms have led to deadly inland flooding in the United States already this season, underscoring how dangerous water can be.

Deadly flooding struck North Carolina after Tropical Storm Chantal dumped torrential rains. At least two people died when their cars were swept away by rushing floodwaters. CBS News meteorologist Rob Marciano has the latest.

The storm flooded roads, downed trees and stranded residents across the central part of the state. It is headed northeast toward Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
