India's foreign ministry said on Friday that bribery allegations against billionaire Gautam Adani is a legal issue between private firms and the U.S. Department of Justice and that New Delhi has not received any request on this case from Washington.

Both houses of Indian parliament were suspended temporarily on Thursday within minutes of opening as opposition lawmakers disrupted proceedings for the third day this week seeking a discussion on allegations against the Adani Group.

India’s opposition is protesting the government’s silence over allegations against billionaire Gautam Adani, who was recently indicted in the U.S. for alleged fraud and a scheme to pay bribes.

The challenges were stark in the case of Adani Green (ADNA.NS), India's largest renewable energy company, which took nearly 3-1/2 years to strike supply deals with buyers for the entire 8 gigawatts (GW) of solar power capacity it won in a tender widely publicised as the country's biggest.
