Family members of Maria Pike, 34, and Destinii Hope, two months old, continue their search for accountability nearly one month after the two were shot and killed by an Independence police officer.

Residents gathered Friday to honor Maria Pike and baby Destinii Hope, who were killed in an Independence police-involved shooting on Nov. 7.

Thirty-four-year-old Maria Pike and her baby girl, Destinii Hope, were killed last Thursday at the Oval Spring Apartments near MO-291 and 23rd Street.
