Police were called to the area about a man with a knife banging on motel doors and acting erratically. When police arrived and heard cries for help, they found a man holding a bleeding motel guest at knifepoint.

A man who police say was armed with a knife was fatally shot by an Arlington police officer early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. to a disturbance call at a hotel near 900 N. Collins Street, across the street from AT&T Stadium.
