Pair of 2nd-period goals by Gabe Vilardi help propel Winnipeg Jets to 8th-straight win
Vilardi scored his second goal of the game with 2:42 left in the second period to up the score to 4-2 for Winnipeg heading into the third period. Vilardi converted a pass from Mark Scheifele in front and beat Sorokin with a wrist shot. Kyle Connor also assisted.

WINNIPEG -- Gabriel Vilardi scored twice, and the Winnipeg Jets won their eighth straight, 4-3 against the New York Islanders at Canada Life Centre on Friday. Nikolaj Ehlers and Alex Iafallo also scored, and Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor each had two assists for the Jets (39-14-3). Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves, including 18 in the third period.
