Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the green. Nifty 50 closed at 24,131.10, while Sensex ended at 79,802.79. Asian equities were trading higher in early trade today.

Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex rose over 0.6% to hit 24,354.55 and 80,511.15 respectively, their highest levels since November 7.

The 30-share BSE Sensex pack surged more than 1,300 points to hit above 80,450 level, while the broader NSE Nifty index moved around 400 points to trade above 24,300. Last checked, Sensex was up 1,261 points or 1.
