Rwanda extradited to India on Thursday a member of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) facing an Interpol Red Notice in an operation coordinated by the NIA and the CBI, officials said here.

Operation was carried out in coordination with Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Interpol, and National Central Bureaus (NCBs), and marks a breakthrough in agency's efforts to combat global terrorism

The NIA registered the Bengaluru Prisons Terror Conspiracy case on October 25 last year, taking over from Bengaluru City Police. Salman, who had been declared a fugitive, was charged under the stringent UAPA, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.

Salman Rehman Khan, an alleged member of the internationally proscribed terrorist organisation, had assisted in providing arms, ammunition and explosives to further terrorist activities in Bengaluru.

Rwanda on Wednesday extradited Salman Khan, whom the Indian government accuses of having links to a terrorist organisation. The suspect was arrested on September 9 in Rwanda, following an August 2 Interpol red notice issued by India.

Lashkar-e-Taiba member Salman Rehman Khan, wanted for terror offences in Bengaluru, was extradited from Rwanda to India. The CBI, NIA, and Interpol collaborated on the operation, following a Red Notice issued against Khan for his alleged involvement in providing arms and explosives for terrorist activities.
