Israeli intelligence is investigating the disappearance of Israeli-Moldovan citizen Rabbi Zvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates in what is being called a "terrorist incident."

Israeli authorities say the abduction and killing of Rabbi Zvi Kogan was an act of antisemitic terrorism, but investigators have not yet stated a motive.

“The murder of the late Chabad emissary Zvi Kogan in the Emirates is a cowardly and despicable antisemitic act of terror,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on social media after Kogan’s body was discovered. “The State of Israel will not rest nor be silent until those responsible for this criminal act pay for their actions.”

The United Arab Emirates expressed gratitude to Turkey for assisting in the apprehension of suspects tied to the murder of Israeli rabbi Zvi Kogan, who lived in the UAE. The acknowledgment was shared via a social media post by the Emirati foreign ministry's strategic communications director.
