Death toll from Palisades and Eaton fires climbs to 24
The number of confirmed deaths from the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires jumped to 24 on Sunday evening. Eight of these deaths are from the Palisades fire and 16 are from the Eaton fire in Altadena, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Combined, they would equal the second-most destructive California wildfire in history, with more than 9,000 structures burned, according to early Cal Fire estimates.
