Tamil film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has become a blockbuster in 2024, grossing over ₹320 crore.

Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, will stream on Netflix from December 5 after a successful theatrical run. It is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery.

Heart-touching emotions, thumping war sequences, extraordinary performances, and good music are the main reasons for the film’s magnanimous success. Amaran is now all set to hit the digital screens on December 5. Netflix, which holds the post-theatrical streaming rights of this biographical film, updated the OTT release date on its catalogue.

Unlike the standard 28-day window for Tamil films to transition from theatres to streaming platforms, Amaran has taken a different route. Its overwhelming reception prompted distributors to request a delay in the OTT release, allowing the film to maximize its theatrical run.

Sivakarthikeyan starrer Amaran made a phenomenal run in theaters after releasing back on October 31, 2024. Now, it seems the film is all set to debut on OTT after five weeks in theaters.  As per a report by Hindustan Times,

Sivakarthikeyan's highest-earning film, Amaran, is set to make its digital debut on Netflix soon. Fans of the actor have been eagerly anticipating the release of this film on the streaming app. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy the action drama is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan.

The producers decided to postpone the digital release to capitalize on the movie’s ongoing theatrical success.

Amaran opened to overwhelmingly positive reviews at the box office, with moviegoers calling it a befitting tribute to Major Mukund Vardharajan's legacy.
