The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday said the allegations against the Adani Group top executives were a legal matter involving private firms and individuals and the US Department of Justice.

Reports of summons had surfaced in the media after a five-count criminal indictment was unsealed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The Adani Group last week denied all allegations as baseless and said it would seek legal recourse to defend itself.

The MEA spokesperson mentioned that the Indian government was not informed in advance about the indictment and is not part of the 'conversation' at this point.
