The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday that it responded to a threat against U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, an Oregon Republican selected by president-elect Donald Trump to lead the federal Department of Labor.

DeRemer, who recently was nominated by president-elect Donald Trump to serve as his labor secretary, said she got a pipe bomb threat at her Oregon home on Tuesday night.

U.S Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, R-Oregon, said she was part of the group of President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees who were targeted with threats of violence Tuesday night. Chavez-DeRemer, Trump's pick for U.S. secretary of labor, said on social media that she and her family received a threat of a pipe bomb at their Happy Valley home.

President-elect Trump has picked Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-Ore.) to serve as Labor secretary for his second stint in the White House, tapping the one-term House lawmaker who has strong support from unions.

Chavez-DeRemer’s selection marks a departure from typical GOP nominations to the position. She has supported pro-union legislation and garnered the support of some unions.

Chavez-DeRemer, who recently represented Oregon in Congress, has often been one of the lone Republican supporters of various pro-union bills and has advocated for improvements to the child care system.
