Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, also known as Krishna Das Prabhu, is an ISKCON monk and prominent Hindu leader who was arrested in Bangladesh for his alleged involvement in protests against violence towards Hindus.

Bangladesh authorities have ordered a 30-day freeze on the bank accounts of 17 individuals linked to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), including Chinmoy Krishna Das, a former member arrested this week on sedition charges.

Bangladesh has frozen the bank accounts of 17 ISKCON associates for 30 days after Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on sedition charges. The High Court rejected a petition to ban ISKCON following a lawyer's death during clashes.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Thursday expressed solidarity with priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested on charges of sedition for allegedly raising a flag on a stand displaying Bangladesh's national flag.

Earlier, General Secretary Of ISKCON Bangladesh Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari had said that the arrested monk had been removed from all positions due to breach of discipline. On this, the group clarified that Das was not an official member of the organisation and it did not attempt to distance itself from him.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu priest and minority rights advocate in Bangladesh, was arrested and denied bail on sedition charges. India's ministry of external affairs expressed concern, noting attacks on minorities protesting Das's arrest.

Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, the general secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, said the monk had been removed from all positions of the organisation.
