Hannah Kobayashi intentionally missed her connecting flight from Los Angeles to New York City, according to the LAPD, but her family disagrees.

Ariana Ursua, a 30-year-old freelancer from Hawaii, told the New York Post that her friend had a “very distinct way of messaging.”
