Flash floods in Texas have killed nearly 90 people, many of them children. Heavy rains fell quickly in the predawn hours Friday in the Texas Hill Country, causing the Guadalupe River to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes.

The death toll from the devastating floods across central Texas surpassed 90 as dozens of people remain missing. In Kerr County, at least 48 adults and 27 children died, according to officials.

A July Fourth weekend deluge in Texas caused catastrophic flash flooding that has killed more than 80 people. Camp Mystic in Kerr County says Monday morning that it is “grieving the loss” of 27 campers and counselors as the search continues for victims of the disaster.

The Houston Astros are donating $1 million to support the recovery from the flooding that has devastated the Texas Hill Country, the team announced Monday.

Kerr County and Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring Jr. are directing people to The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which launched the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support immediate and long-term rebuilding efforts.

The Austin-based jeweler announced Sunday that it would be making a donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. Along with the foundation's direct donation, Kendra Scott is also donating 100% of proceeds from sales of the company's Everlyne bracelets.
