Former Vikings QB Rental Lands New Contract
On Monday, during the first day of the 2025 NFL negotiating period, Dobbs found his home for what appears to be the next two seasons, signing a two-year deal with the New England Patriots, to sit behind 2024 No. 3 overall pick, Drake Maye. This after spending 2024 in San Francisco.
Cousins is coming off of a rough 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons where he threw for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions while completing 66.9% of his passes. Those aren't great numbers, especially from a turnover perspective.
After suffering an Achilles injury that cut his season short, Cousins saw the Falcons shift gears at quarterback. Atlanta used the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select Michael Penix Jr., signaling a change in direction. Now, with Penix viewed as the franchise’s future under center, Cousins has become an expensive afterthought.
