Proceeds raised by the FireAid benefit concert will help those affected by the wildfires by raising money "for rebuilding communities devastated by wildfires and supporting efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California," according to a press release.

U2, whose members include Bono and the Edge, committed during the event to donating $1 million to the relief efforts. The surviving members of Nirvana, who weren’t part of the official FireAid bill, took the stage to perform with vocalists including St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett and Violet Grohl, the 18-year-old daughter of Grohl.
