Governor Kathy Hochul has answered the toughest question in New York politics — she will not remove Mayor Eric Adams from office. “My strong belief is that the will of the voters and the supremacy and sanctity of democratic elections preclude me from any other action,” she said.
Last night, in an appearance on Rachel Maddow’s show, Kathy Hochul didn’t rule out removing the still-indicted mayor from office. “I’m consulting with other leaders in government at this time,” she said. “I need some time to process this and figure out the right approach.”
A federal judge has not dismissed Mayor Eric Adams' criminal trial, but on Friday announced it was indefinitely adjourned.
