The Sacramento Kings are reportedly expected to open up trade talks regarding star point guard De'Aaron Fox before the February 6th trade deadline, per Shams Charania | ESPN. Fox has spent eight years in Sacramento and earned an All-Star and third-team All-Pro bid for the 2022-23 season.

On Tuesday, Charania reported the Kings are "expected to open up talks to potentially deal All-Star De'Aaron Fox ahead of Feb. 6 trade deadline." Additionally the NBA insider notes the point guard will have " plenty of suitors, but it's believed that Fox has a target destination in mind ahead of 2026 free agency."

Bleacher Report and ESPN proposed a Lakers trade pitch that would send De'Aaron Fox to Los Angeles in exchange for a large haul.

Fox, who was an NBA All-Star and NBA Clutch Player of the Year in 2023, led the league in steals last season. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, there will be “ plenty of suitors ” for his services if he does become available on the trade market.

De’Aaron Fox is one of the league’s least appreciated stars, who could have the unexpected chance to shine for a different franchise. But where would be his best fit?

Shams Charania was the original reporter who gave light to the fact that the Lakers were not on the list of preferred destinations for Fox. The ESPN insider then followed that up with insight as to which team tops the list. That wound up being the San Antonio Spurs.

With the February 6th trade deadline a week away, the Brooklyn Nets have not hinted at their planned direction. However, one rumor suggests that the Nets may be interested in Sacramento Kings’ guard De’Aaron Fox.
