A person was arrested on aggravated arson charges after a fire was intentionally set in a Canton home Thursday night, officials said.
According to Canton Division Chief Steve Henderson, the fire was started in a first floor closet, extended into the ceiling and the front porch. Two adults and three children were inside the home at the time and managed to escape safely. Franchessai Winston-Johnson is charged with aggravated arson. Damage is estimated at $27,000.
