Arkansas baseball kicked off the 2025 season with a four-game sweep of Washington State. Here are three takeaways from the opening weekend.
Arkansas and Washington did not play Sunday due to weather. Left-handed pitcher Landon Beidelschies, a transfer from Ohio State, will make his Arkansas debut on the mound. A win Monday would give Arkansas its 13th opening weekend sweep since coach Dave Van Horn took over in 2003.
Dave Van Horn — 886-457 in 23rd season at Arkansas and 1,206-614 in 31st season overall in Division I. Washington State: Nathan Choate — 21-35 in second season at Washington State and 106-138-1 in sixth season overall.
The Hogs have not lost or tied a non-conference regular season weekend series at Baum-Walker Stadium since 2014, when Arkansas lost two-of-three games to South Alabama in its final non-conference home weekend series.
Arkansas third baseman Brent Iredale homered twice and led the fifth-ranked Razorbacks to a 5-2 victory over Washington State on Saturday at Baum-Walker Stadium. Iredale tied the game 2-2 with a 391-foot home run to left field in the fourth inning and gave Arkansas a 3-2 lead with a 401-foot blast to left in the sixth.
