Going into the 2025 college football season, there are very few teams with more intrigue around them than the North Carolina Tar Heels. After all, legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick has taken over as the head man in Chapel Hill for his first college season.

The eight-time Super Bowl winner is a college head coach for the first time and doing something he has never had to do: recruit.

The most intriguing part of this 2025 North Carolina recruiting class is the fact that there are three QBs committed to the Tar Heels. The latest is Gary Merrill, and the other two are three-star Au'Tori Newkirk and four-star Bryce Baker, the highest-ranked player in the North Carolina class.
