FIFA has announced a $1billion prize fund for the 2025 Club World Cup. World football’s governing body has not yet confirmed how the money will be distributed between the 32 participating teams, but explained a “solidarity” pot for clubs outside the competition would also be introduced.

Schmetzer has been Head Coach of the Sounders since 2016 and is the man who led them to their greatest triumph in 2022, their CONCACAF Champions League win. Seattle-born and bred, the 62-year-old played for a number of local teams and coached Sounders previously when they were a USL club.
