Elton John is opening up about how an eye infection he contracted in July has led to him losing vision in his right eye.

Elton John is giving an update on his vision problems. The EGOT winner, 77, revealed in an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” on Monday that he can’t see out of his right eye after developing an infection over the summer, which has affected his ability to make new music.

The "Rocket Man" singer said he's unsure when he will be able to record again following the loss of vision in his right eye.

The 77-year-old — who shares sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with husband David Furnish — added that his "left eye's not the greatest" and, while he's hopeful for a remedy, his ailment has made it difficult to record music.

Despite his health challenges, the six-time Grammy Award winner is looking at the positives in his life, including his two children, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, whom he shares with his husband, David Furnish. John is also looking forward to his upcoming documentary.

Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Pop music icon Elton John has announced he lost the sight in his right eye. The Grammy winner told ABC's Good Morning Americ a Monday that the problem stemmed from an infection he suffered last summer.
