Houston Texans defender Azeez Al-Shaair apologized to Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence on social media Monday morning.

In the aftermath of Al-Shaair’s dirty hit, some Jaguars and Texans players engaged in a feisty brawl on the field. Al-Shaair was ejected along with Jaguars defensive back Jarrian Jones, even though the Texans defender was the blatant offender.

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair did just about everything the NFL is trying to prevent by hitting Trevor Lawrence late and in the head as the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback was trying to slide in the first half of the Texans vs. Jaguars game on Sunday. It was an objectively dirty hit, and Al-Shaair was ejected from the game.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a concussion on a late hit from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.

Azeez Al-Shaair was ejected after delivering a late hit against Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence while he was sliding to pick up a first down. The hit to head that appeared to knock Lawrence unconscious.

Al-Shaair had a dirty hit on Trevor Lawrence during a division rival game between the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars.  Lawrence was scrambling to his left, got out the pocket and attempted to slide as he approached the first down marker.
