It was short n’ sweet, and I’m not talking about Sabrina Carpenter. On Tuesday, the San Jose Sharks sent top goaltending prospect Yaroslav Askarov back to the AHL and recalled defenseman Jack Thompson.

Yaroslav Askarov, one of the NHL's top goaltending prospects, was called up Monday by the San Jose Sharks in a move that had been expected since the start of the season. Askarov, 22, played well for the Sharks' AHL affiliate in San Jose.

The San Jose Sharks are likely getting Nico Sturm back from an upper-body injury and, in a corresponding move, have sent down defenseman Jack Thompson.
