Rescuers found five survivors and four bodies on Tuesday from the wreck of a boat carrying tourists that sank amid high waves off the Red Sea coast of Egypt a day earlier, according to the Egyptian authorities. Search efforts were continuing for seven other missing passengers and crew, they said.

A tourist boat called the Sea Story sank in the Red Sea on Monday near the resort town of Marsa Alam. Sixteen people are missing, including twelve foreign nationals.

Four bodies were recovered on Tuesday from a tourist boat which capsized off Egypt’s Red Sea coast, and rescue teams were still searching for seven missing people, the Red Sea Governorate said in a statement.

The Sea Story sank off the southeastern Egyptian town of Marsa Alam, near the Shaab Satayah area, popular for its coral reefs, the Red Sea Governorate said.
