The six people died after a confined space rescue at a dairy in the 32000 block of County Road 18, which is the site of Prospect Valley Dairy.

Family members told 9NEWS that three of the victims – Jorge Sanchez, and brothers Alejandro and Oscar Espinoza – were working for an electric company and had been dispatched to the Prospect Valley Dairy in Keenesburg on a service call. They said all three electricians died, along with three other people, including a high school student.
The office was notified of an incident at Prospect Valley Dairy — located east of Keenesburg at 32063 Weld County Road 18 — around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and confirmed six deaths had occurred there from a single incident.
DENVER ( KDVR) — The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public if anyone has possibly lost their emu. The sheriff’s office posted to X on Friday, saying that in the morning, one of its Animal Control Officers received a report of a possible loose emu in the Camfield area.
Wednesday’s deaths of six people at a dairy east of Keenesburg are being investigated by the Weld County Coroner’s Office and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration as possible gas exposures in a confined space.
