President Donald Trump on Thursday said he plans to host a UFC fight on White House grounds as he kicked off a series of events meant to mark America’s 250th anniversary next year.

The president announced plans to bring the octagon right to the White House in celebration of the country's 250th anniversary.

A UFC spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic 's Mark Puleo on Friday that plans are in motion for a UFC fight to take place at the White House as part of the United States’ 250th birthday celebration in 2026. The news follows President Donald Trump’s public announcement of the idea during a speech in Iowa on Thursday.
