A train line has reopened after its tracks were flooded following Storm Bert. Northern's services between Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria and Lancaster were expected to be cancelled until Friday due to problems near Ulverston.

Heavy weekend rain and strong winds brought in by Storm Bert caused widespread flooding and travel disruptions across Britain and Ireland, and killed at least three people in England and Wales.

Storm Bert is battering Devon and Cornwall with flood warnings in place, fallen trees across the region and many properties without power. The Environment Agency has issued 13 flood warnings and 33 flood alerts for Devon,

More flooding is “likely” this week after Storm Bert brought torrential rain over the weekend, the Environment Secretary said. Steve Reed said its impacts “should be less severe” than they were on Sunday and Monday morning.

Storm Bert left a trail of disruption across the UK, with hundreds of flood warnings in place for Wales and the west of England.

The family of a man who was found dead the day after he went missing during Storm Bert have paid tribute to a “much loved husband, father, brother and grandfather”. Bryan Perry, who was 75, had been walking his dog when he went missing near the River Conwy in the Trefriw area on Saturday (November 23).

A man died on Saturday when a tree fell on his car on the A34 in Hampshire County, England. In Wales, a body was found during the search for 75-year-old Brian Perry, who went missing Saturday.

While the Met Office said it was "committed to learning the lessons" the forecasting and meteorological body also pointed out that rainfall totals were in line with its predictions and warnings.
