LA PLATA, Argentina (Reuters) -England winger Tom Roebuck scored two tries and veteran flyhalf George Ford delivered a virtuoso performance in a 35-12 win over Argentina in the first test in La Plata on Saturday.

History certainly favours England, who have won 19 and lost four of their previous meetings with Argentina. England have won four of their past five meetings with the Pumas, who last claimed victory in November 2022. Their last meeting was in the Bronze medal match at the 2023 World Cup, when England edged to a 26-23 victory.

Centre Seb Atkinson and wing Will Muir will make their debuts for England as coach Steve Borthwick picked two captains for the test against Argentina in La Plata on Saturday, including centurion George Ford.
