President Trump’s fresh push for Republicans to abandon the Senate filibuster is showing little sign of success, even as lawmakers struggle to find a way out of the ongoing government
"It is now time for the Republicans to play their ‘TRUMP CARD,’ and go for what is called the Nuclear Option—Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday.
A handful of Republicans joined Democrats to vote against President Trump's emergency tariffs against Brazil, Canada and other countries. But the votes were mostly symbolic and unlikely to become law.
