Vice President JD Vance says Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency should rehire a staff member who resigned after he was linked to social media posts that espoused racism.

Marko Elez, the 25-year-old staffer Department of Government Efficiency staffer linked to a social media profile with racist posts, “will be brought back,” shortly after he resigned, Elon Musk announced on X.

Elez resigned from his post at Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, better known as DOGE, on Thursday after the Wall Street Journal uncovered that Elez had published racist statements on an anonymous account that once bore his name. However, on Friday, Musk confirmed he could bring Elez back to DOGE.
