Tyrese Maxey did not make the cut for the NBA’s Eastern Conference All-Star reserves. After being named to his first All-Star Game last year, Maxey was not among the seven East reserves selected by the NBA’s head coaches. Those players were announced Thursday night as:

Jaylen Brown joined Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum as an Eastern Conference All-Star on Thursday night with the wing selected as a reserve by NBA coaches. It is the fourth All-Star selection for Brown over the last five seasons.

Last week the NBA announced the All-star starters for each conference. In the east, Jalen Brunson and Donovan Mitchell were the two starters at guard, and Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Karl Anthony-Towns were the three frontcourt starters.

The Atlanta Hawks have made the NBA playoffs in each of the past three seasons, but extending the streak to four years may prove challenging. Atlanta has a 22-25 record and is ninth in the Eastern Conference.
