There was some significant movement in the new rankings released after the Week 13 games. While the top four teams in last week's rankings —Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, and Penn State—all took care of business, other teams projected to be in the 12-team College Football Playoff bracket suffered losses.

The College Football Playoff has used a selection committee since its first season in 2014, and that hasn’t changed. A 13-member committee, which has announced its rankings weekly since November, will set the bracket when it unveils the final 12-team rankings on Dec. 8.

The fourth Playoff rankings of the 2024 season have been released with Oregon, Ohio State, Texas and Penn State maintaining the top four spots.
