Capitol Christmas tree arrives in Harrisburg
A 24-foot Christmas tree has arrived in the State Capitol to signal the holiday season’s beginnings. Officials say this year’s tree originates from Crystal Spring Tree Farm in Carbon County and is taller than previous trees.

The towering Sitka Spruce is in D.C. following a long journey from Alaska. The tree is named Wayne. Wayne comes from the Tongass National Forest. It's the second year the the Capitol Christmas tree has come from Alaska — the first one was in 2015.

With relatively little trouble, state workers erected this year's Christmas tree inside the Capitol rotunda on Wednesday morning.
Capitol Christmas tree delivery delayed
Delivery will have to be rescheduled when the get larger equipment in place to handle the transport. The tree will be erected and decorated for the Christmas celebration on the Kanawha River side of the capitol building in Charleston.
