Negotiations between Canada Post and the union for postal workers are still on hold as of Monday afternoon, though both sides have said they're working to get back to the table.

It is asking customers to refrain from mailing items addressed to Canada until further notice. The move by the U.S. Postal Service comes after some 55,000 Canada Post workers walked off the job more than two weeks ago.

After negotiations between both parties broke down last Wednesday, the USPS suspended acceptance of Canada-bound mail.

The latest move from Canada Post comes after the union filed an unfair labour practice complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board over the layoffs of striking employees, saying the layoffs are an intimidation tactic that violates the Canada Labour Code.
