Salman Rehman Khan, a terrorist belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was extradited from Rwanda by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today (28 November).

Salman Rehman Khan, an alleged member of the internationally proscribed terrorist organisation, had assisted in providing arms, ammunition and explosives to further terrorist activities in Bengaluru.

The NIA registered the Bengaluru Prisons Terror Conspiracy case on October 25 last year, taking over from Bengaluru City Police. Salman, who had been declared a fugitive, was charged under the stringent UAPA, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.

Khan's extradition was part of a highly confidential operation by the CBI along with the collaboration with the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

In a major development, the NIA has extradited Salman Khan, a significant LeT fugitive, from Rwanda related to the Bengaluru prisons terror conspiracy.

The terrorist was identified as Salman Rehman Khan against whom Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice. He was also wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Salman Rehman Khan is accused of involvement in criminal conspiracy, membership in a terrorist organisation, and providing material support to the Pakistan-based LeT.
