Games Workshop said it granted Amazon.com exclusive rights to films and television series of the U.K. company’s popular Warhammer game.

Exactly two years after Amazon MGM Studios acquired global rights to the Warhammer 40,000 game from Games Workshop for Henry Cavill to star in and executive produce a cinematic universe, there has been movement on the project.

Amazon and Games Workshop have finalised their deal, confirming Henry Cavill-led Warhammer 40,000 TV series is now in development.

Henry Cavill is well known for his passion for Warhammer 40K, publicly sharing his interest on interviews and social media posts, and even collecting and painting miniatures in his free time, especially during the pandemic.

The deal between Amazon Prime's Warhammer 40K show and Henry Cavill began in 2022 when Cavill announced his attachment to the project. A year later, Amazon, Games Workshop, and Cavill finally solidified a deal. Now, development is beginning to ramp up, though it's unclear what "Project One" is.
