After Gardner Minshew's injury, coach Antonio Pierce wouldn’t say whether O'Connell will play against the Chiefs on Black Friday.

The Raiders designated quarterback Aidan O’Connell to return from injured reserve Monday, the team announced. Coach Antonio Pierce said O’Connell will participate in a walk-through Tuesday but wouldn’t commit to O’Connell playing against the Chiefs on Friday.

Antonio Pierce confirmed reports of the break Monday and said Aidan O’Connell is in play to return this week. The Raiders have since designated O’Connell for return from IR. This marked the second-year quarterback’s first week of return eligibility.

The Raiders have not decided on a starting quarterback for their game against the Chiefs on Friday. Quarterback Gardner Minshew suffered a season-ending collarbone injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Broncos.
